Here is another short one folks! As folks at my gym have recently completed a Paleo Sprint and may be getting their blood work checked to see what kind of changes they’ve made I figured I’d throw a quick post up about the fairly common Hemoglobin A1C test and exactly what that test means. Since I found a good video, I’ll shut up and let the awesome folks at Khan Academy, walk you through it.
I hope that clears it up for you a little bit, I know it did for me. A couple of things to note here is that this is a pretty good test for the typical American population. But, this test loses a little bit of relevancy for us Paleo/Primal kids because studies (and super smart guys) are starting to show that the life of that little red blood cell is actually longer in people who eat an anti-inflammatory diet. So if you already have your nutrition dialed in you may not need to worry much about that A1C number.
